Spanning over 2000m2 this roof refurbishment project was undertaken for the South Western Sydney Local Health District. This roof consisted of the removal of a deteriorated membrane that was leaking into the wards below which needed to be disposed of. A new Sika Sarnafil system was installed that would with stand the temperatures of the Australian climate and would last over 20 years.
Materials were craned onto the roof and the membrane was glue fixed and heat welded using robotic welders. All existing HVAC machinery and plant remained with the installation was taking place. The Sika walkway pads were also installed for service trade’s foot traffic to ensure the roof membrane is kept clean.
Following the installation, a roof maintenance plan is to be implemented to ensure the longevity of the roof and reduce further long term costs.
